Land Rover requires modern ABS equipped
trucks to have the brake fluid replaced completely every
30,000 miles! They
require series trucks to have the brake fluid replaced
every 18 months. For those of you who have been
looking for a professional pressure bleeder at an affordable
price, we've found one for you. The Power Bleeder is
the perfect answer for those troublesome 109 CB systems,
as well as all ABS designs.

The basic kit comes with a universal adapter that works fine
on most models, and a separate 'euro' adapter screws right
on to Series system reservoirs.
Here's how it works: add brake fluid to
the tank, attach the fitting where the fluid cap goes, pump
up the tank pressure, then go around and open the bleed screws
individually. This now becomes a one person operation,
and you don't have to top up the truck's reservoir each time:
the tank holds enough to purge a complete system.
Brake fluid requires periodic replacement
for proper operation, longevity of seals, and to prevent pitting
of pistons and cylinders. Most people don't do this routine
service because it's too troublesome to do by yourself, and
expensive brake component replacement is the eventual result.
Our power bleeder makes it easy to properly
and quickly purge the air and old fluid out of your brake
lines (assuming all components are in good shape). For professional
results at home, you will use this tool over and over on all
your vehicles!

LMA Brake and Clutch Fluid
The brake fluid specified by Rover for use in your Land
Rover and Range Rover
Castrol LMA has a high boiling point and is very good
at rejecting moisture. The LMA stands for "Low
Moisture Activity". Water absorption lowers
the boiling point of brake fluid and causes corrosion
of the brake cylinders. Most other brands of
DOT 4 fluid tend to absorb water more readily.
Land Rover recommends that you drain your brake fluid
every 18 months and replaces it with fresh Castrol LMA
DOT4 brake fluid to minimize brake system corrosion
and maintain brake fluid performance.
Use genuine Castrol LMA DOT4 brake fluid.

Water Wetter
Water Wetter is added to a coolant mix to help reduce
cooling system temperatures.
Water has excellent heat transfer properties in its
liquid state, but very high surface tension makes it
difficult to release water vapor from metal surfaces.
Under heavy load conditions, much of the heat in the
cylinder head is transferred by localized boiling at
hot spots, even though the bulk of the cooling solution
is below the boiling point. Water Wetter reduces the
surface tension of water by a factor of two, which can
improve the heat transfer properties in this localized
boiling region by as much as 15%.

Rover V8 engines
and for Series 2.25's with roller tappets
Flat tappet and solid roller tappet engines require
a zinc blend for friction reduction in their oil. This
compound, known as ZDDP, has been an important part
of engine oils for decades. But California requires
that all emission parts be warranted for 100,000 miles,
including catalytic converters. Sometimes that's tough
for manufacturers to meet, especially if the engine
using oil. The zinc can clog converters over high mileages.
So, the manufacturers have persuaded the oil companies
to eliminate ZDDP, which is being phased out nationwide.
Modern engines are designed for low internal friction
so the zinc really isn't required anymore. But older
engines still need it. The wear is first seen on cams
and tappets, where friction and pressure is highest.
We've seen freshly rebuilt engines destroy cams and
lifters within a few thousand miles due to this oil
formula change.
Additionally, ethanol fuel blends are very hard on piston
rings in older engines.
To protect your engine, add one half bottle of Engine
Oil Treatment to restore zinc levels to your conventional
oil after a rebuild and at each change. The product
reduces friction, improving efficiency and mileage.
It's also fortified with detergents, dispersants, and
antioxidants to keep the engine clean. It does not alter
the viscosity of the oil.
Rover V8's last practically forever when properly lubricated
and cooled. We also recommend it for Series Land Rovers.
Not for LR3, Range Rover 3, or Range Rover Sport.
