The K&N filters
come pre oiled and ready to use, and will go a
long time before the first service is required
(under normal conditions).
Many folks like
to go ahead and get the service kit, just to have
it handy, plus it's a bonus if you're on a trip
and you need to wash out a dusty filter.
The instructions
for cleaning are provided, and even if you aren't
known for your prowess as a mechanic you can easily
do this. The kit comes with a cleaning solution
and special oil (NOTE: never use motor oil, trans
fluid, or solvent to clean or re-oil a K&N filter:
it won't work!). The kit is good for several cleanings. |
